Hydro automates the creation of a superelement representation of sloshing fluid in Nastran, greatly simplifying your model while capturing the fluid’s dynamics.  It supports different fluid representations including options that explicitly represent the slosh modes for response analysis. It also supports all Nastran superelement formats, including bulk data and external superelements.

Hydro was originally developed on the Titan Centaur program, but has since been used to model fluid in a wide variety of tank shapes for many vehicles, ranging from launch vehicles motorcycles.

To use Hydro, first define the wetted and free surfaces of your tank and fluid with shell elements.  Then create a solid mesh of the fluid.  Finally use Hydro to create a superelement that captures the dynamics of the sloshing fluid. 

Hydro has an easy to use interface that helps users set up all of the necessary Nastran parameters.  Simply define the input and output file names in the appropriate fields and let Hydro do the rest.

License Server for Hydro

Hydro uses Sentinel RMS license server.  Visit the Sentinel RMS download page for more details. If you are an existing Hydro customer and are current on software maintenance, please request an updated permanent license. 

How Do I Obtain a License?

To obtain a demo license for Hydro, request your 30 day trial license! To obtain your permanent license file for Hydro, follow these steps:

1. Download and install Sentinel RMS, following the installation directions. 
2. Email us to receive password for Hydro download.
3. Download and install Hydro.
4. Follow the directions for installing the license file.
